Goals: February, March and April

February goal: 1+ 5 min+ conversation with a stranger each day.

Achieved: 15 conversations from 15 Jan - 29 Feb. I could have done better. Still, a good improvement.

March goal: Double push up count.

Achieved: Epic Fail. I didn't even end up doing anything this month.

April: Get to 3 sets of 8 pull ups.

I watched the Watchmen

I'm not going to write my thoughts yet, but I think that it's interesting that Watchmen is a rich and complex movie that tries to get at the heart of the ethics and social policy - complex enough that it seems to be a modern Rorshach test. Most people that I've talked to, myself included, seem to project their own ideas of morality on the movie.

March Resolution

For my March resolution, I'm going to be using the program at One Hundred Push Ups. I hear good things about it.

I was initially able to do 15 perfect form knuckle push ups.

Twitter, Google Reader, fight!

A few years ago, I consolidated all of my internet information flow into Google Reader and Google Mail. My decision has paid off handsomely except for one small, niggling problem - Twitter. Twitter used to provide an unsecured RSS feed, but midway though 2008, the RSS feed required authentication. Google Reader does not support authenticated feeds.

I've decided to try to take up Twitter again, and will be using my old, partial fix - piping my Twitter feed through Yahoo Pipes before it hits Google Reader. The downside to this is that Yahoo Pipes only poles once ever few hours and due to the nature of RSS, Google Reader only picks up the first 20 items each time Yahoo Pipes polls. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but given the nature of Twitter, this solution is marginal at best.

Hopefully a better solution will rear its head soon, of I might have to drop Twitter again.

Ultimate Fun

Ryan convinced me to play Ultimate frisbee this morning. I had a set of cleats that I tried out. They ended up working well. Lots of fun all around. The hair is definitely getting in the way, though.

When we got there, the field was pretty full - there were three games going on next to each other. By the time we finished, the other two games had both disappeared.
